I have no idea why I haven’t read a book from Lexi before. I’ll work my way through her other books now since I had no idea what I’ve missed 🙂
I received my ARC for the third book in this series, but I realized after the first page that this was a series (I should really start to pay more attention).
Since the books need to be read in order, I started with book one and I’ll try to review this book without giving away spoilers:
Tristan gets hurt by the one person who’s supposed to love him unconditionally, his Twin Flame. Only Ushna, his best friend, is there for him in that dark time and helps him survive.
Years later, Tristan finally finds the love again, but all he can have is a shadow of what he was supposed to have with his Twin Flame. It’s better than nothing, but still not the same as with his Twin Flame, even if it makes him happy.
But with happiness comes trouble. Big trouble. Nothing in Tristan’s life is as it was, and big relevations test him and the new love he just found.
My thoughts about it: I simply couldn’t stop. I totally got lost in Tristan and Ushna’s world. I did nothing but read. My fingernails suffered with Tristan. Other parts were just funny, Tristan’s dry humor coming out. I might have embarrassed myself with laughing out loud in a dentist’s waiting room (I was not alone!). It’s great to see Tristan slowly coming back to his former self, and to see the new love grow. And Tristan’s seduction tactics were simply too funny (That might have been one of the parts that made me laugh out loud.).
The book is well written, well edited, and fast paced. I simply loved it. Buy it today and get lost in Tristan’s world. You won’t regret it. Book Two is also available, my review of it coming in the next days.
My rating: 5 out of 5 stars
I’ve added the general info for you:
Blurb:
A Lycan descendant of Gilgamesh and Enkidu, Tristan is not as extraordinary as his ancestors. He is an average warrior, unremarkable throughout. But this fact does not trouble him because he has found his Twin Flame, the one person destined to be his, who will love him unconditionally, life after life.
Then his Flame betrays him, leaving him shattered and dying. Brokenhearted, Tristan dissolves the sacred bond and leaves. His best friend, Ushna, accompanies him, vowing to guard and protect him, and Tristan slowly comes to realize that love does not require a sacred bond.
But if he hopes to keep the love he chooses, they will first have to survive ancient secrets, lies, mythical creatures, and the return of absent gods…
