Blog Tour and Review: Endings and Beginnings by K.C. Wells and Parker Williams

EndingsandBeginningsFS

Author Names: K.C. Wells & Parker Williams

Book Name: Endings and Beginnings

Series: Collars & Cuffs

Book: Eight

This is the final book in the series, which should be read from Beginning to End. 😉 (See what we did there?)

Release Date: July 18, 2016

Blurb:

In all his relationships, Darren Fielding never found the level of intimacy he witnessed between Thomas Williams and his sub, Peter, the day of Peter’s “rebirth.” Not only that, he never realized such intimacy was possible. For two years, Thomas’s business card has been burning a hole in his wallet. When Darren’s lover moves on, maybe it’s finally time to see where that card takes him.

Collars & Cuffs’s new barman, JJ Taylor, is really conflicted right now. He went to the club with a very specific purpose, already convinced of what he’d find there. Except it’s not what he expected at all. He certainly didn’t anticipate finding himself drawn to the new wannabe Dom. Nor could he have guessed the direction that attraction would lead him.

Old love, new love, vows, pain, rage, moving in, moving on…. The members of Collars & Cuffs face an event that touches some of them deeply, but it will only reinforce what they already know: together they are stronger, and some bonds cannot be broken.

No strings. No names. No repeats. Archie Jones and Zack Lorrimer-Grant’s ground rules have always kept them safe – until now.

Getting down and dirty with anonymous hook-ups is a game Archie and Zack have always played. It keeps life fresh and exciting and everybody’s having fun. Aren’t they?

Archie isn’t. The hook-ups stopped being fun long ago. It’s a game he wishes he’d never started and he wants to stop playing. Now. Right now.

The men keep Zack’s fear at bay. Fear that without them, Archie will realise Zack alone will never be enough to make him truly happy.

Terry Franklin isn’t a hook-up. He’s far more dangerous, and Archie is determined to do whatever it takes to keep the man out of their bed and out of their life.

Where Archie sees a threat, Zack sees a kindred spirit. Terry is the lifeline Zack never knew he needed, but this lifeline could mean the death of him and Archie…

The Story of Love is the second in the Urban Love Contemporary Gay Romance series but can be read as a stand-alone. If you love your MM romance laced with angst and high emotion and your MCs complex, multi-faceted men facing up to and overcoming challenges against all the odds, A E Ryecart’s story of Archie and Zack will leave you breathless.

Note: The Story of Love is an MM romance, not MMM.

BiRaindrop-2“I’m bisexual.” I don’t say these words too often, but when the subject comes up, I usually tell people. The reactions are nearly always the same: “But you’re married.” “But you have kids.” “Are you sure you’re not simply a lesbian?” and so on. Always the same.

Usually, I just roll my eyes and say yes, I’m sure, but I thought IDAHOT 2016 would be a good time to talk about what it really means to be bisexual.

In theory, it’s quite simple: I’m attracted to men and women. (Okay, truth to be told, I’m pansexual, but the word isn’t known in German and I don’t intend to open THAT can of worms, so I’ll stick with bisexual).

Apparently, it’s not as easy, though. Most people think bisexuality is a phase or something you get rid of when you find a partner. Well, let me tell you, it’s not. Just because I’m married to a man doesn’t mean I can’t find other man attractive (I’m going to assume you do the same, even though you’re most likely only attracted to men OR women). I’m attracted to both. I can look at a man, admire his scruffy beard, his masculine looks, and I can see a woman, notice her hair, her inviting lips, her smile. It’s quite simple. It doesn’t mean I want to jump in bed with them (happily married, you remember?). Somehow, everyone assumes you’re having sex with men and women when you’re bisexual. Newsflash: You don’t. When you’re in a monogamous relationship, you don’t sleep around. Period. It doesn’t matter who you think looks nice. You don’t do it. I’m going to assume when you’re in a relationship, you don’t cheat as well. I wouldn’t, either. Sex and attraction are two completely different things.

So, when someone tells you they’re bisexual, try to understand what it means. Don’t jump to conclusions. And please don’t think it’s a phase. It’s not. I’ve been bisexual since I hit puberty. I don’t believe it will end any time soon (and I don’t want it to.)

Author Interview: The Better To Kiss You With by Michelle Osgood

The Better 900px (Tumblr)

Today I’m very lucky to be interviewing Michelle Osgood author of The Better to Kiss You With.

Hi Michelle thank you for agreeing to this interview. Tell us a little about yourself, your background, and your current book.

Hi, thanks for having me! I’m a writer who lives in Vancouver, BC, with my partner Elizabeth and our two black cats. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, and have been fascinated with storytelling for as long as I can remember. The Better to Kiss You With is a paranormal romance about Deanna, the moderator of an online werewolf role playing game, who falls for the mysterious woman living above her.

Tell us something no one else knows about your characters.

Nathan’s favourite nights are when Deanna goes out of town and asks him to dog sit Arthur. He lets Arthur share his bed, and loves nothing more than curling up with another warm body. Arthur isn’t the best bed partner, because his hair gets everywhere, but he’s a great cuddler, and has never once complained about Nathan snoring.

What inspires you in life or in writing?

What inspires me in life is people who have big, huge, impossible goals, and are completely unafraid of them. I have so much respect for anyone who can look past what we’re told our limits are, and who never stops working to achieve that goal.

What is the most important thing about your subject/genre that people need to know?

There’s been lots of discussion lately about the kinds of stories that queer women are allowed to be a part of—and I think it’s important to realize that queer women deserve happy endings. Queer women’s stories so often end in tragedy, in heartbreak, and those aren’t the kind of stories we deserve. We deserve to be a part of the romance genre, we deserve complex, interesting female characters who find other complex, interesting female characters, and fall in love. We deserve happily ever after.

How did you become involved in the subject/theme of your book?

One of the subjects that comes up in The Better to Kiss You With is online harassment. As I was writing this book, GamerGate was in full swing, and seeing so many women speak out about the threats, stalking, and harassment they were enduring infuriated me. They were experiencing very real terror, primarily perpetrated by men, and often the harassment only worsened after they dared to speak out. The lack of consequences the perpetrators of that kind of violence—because it is, undoubtedly, violence—faced was so, so unfair to me. I wanted to in some way acknowledge the fear these women endured.

What famous person (living or dead) would you like to meet and why?

I would love to meet LJ Smith, who wrote one of my favourite novels of all time, The Forbidden Game. It would be very cool to be able to tell her how much that story meant to me!

Thank you!
